The MICHELIN guide, often named red Guide is a gastronomical hotel and touristical directory, edited in 1900 by tyre production society MICHELIN.
The MICHELIN guide is based on 5 principles :
- Being in the Michelin guide is a proof of quality.
- The visit of gourmet criticism of the Michelin guide is anonymous.
- The selection is independent .
- The Michelin guide is updated annually , the selection in Europe is homogeneous through the use of same selection methods.
- Various distinctions including stars indicate the highest quality of cuisine.
Since 1996, the gastronomical restaurant of the "Château de Stainchamps" is present in the MICHELIN guide with one star and four forks.
